Fall 2026 Newsletter
And just like that, September has come and gone and we’re well into fall sending temps!
It’s been a busy summer for climbing, both on the wall and off. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
The 2026 Beaver Valley Climbing Festival was a great success!

We had the best weather for the BVCF this year, and almost 200 of you came out to celebrate with us! With a variety of clinics hosted by Muskoka Mountainworks and On the Rocks, topropes set up by the ACC, and vendors and prizes galore, this was the party of the summer! A BIG thank you goes out to our main sponsor, Patagonia, for helping us host an incredible weekend. And to you, the climbing community, for coming out and having fun!
We’re excited to see this festival continue to grow and evolve. We’re already discussing plans for next year 😊

2026 Annual General Meeting
SAVE THE DATE: Our 2026 Annual General Meeting will be held Wednesday, November 18th, at 7pm.
This is a great opportunity to ask questions about our organization and to share input on our future direction. We’ll also be holding the election for board membership, talking about recent developments, and speaking about what’s on the horizon.
Details for the virtual meeting will be announced November 1 via official email to all OAC members.
If you would like to run as a candidate for the board of directors, please submit your bio to info@ontarioallianceofclimbers.ca by end of day October 28 in order to have your bio included with the formal meeting announcement. You may also submit your name for the election during the meeting on November 18th.
Once again, this year’s AGM will be held virtually in order to allow members from across the province to tune in.
Submissions are now OPEN for the 2027 Ontario Crags Calendar!
Every year, we publish a calendar of some of the best climbing photos taken across Ontario.
We’re looking for a variety of photos showcasing the diversity of Ontario climbing: different crags, different people, different seasons, different disciplines (ice, trad, sport, AND bouldering!). Show us what you’ve got!
Submissions closing at midnight on October 11. Send your photos to submissions@ontarioallianceofclimbers.ca. All entered photos will be subject to the full Terms of Submission found here.
Complete your Bolt Fund Submissions by October 31
Applications for reimbursements from the Bolt Fund are due October 31! The Bolt Fund reimburses local route developers up to $1,000 per year for hardware used to fix and upgrade aged or worn-out fixed climbing gear. If you’ve been helping keep Ontario safe this year, fill out your application today!
